For restaurants, cafés & bars

A slow Tuesday review
outlives the Tuesday.

Restaurant reviews skew emotional and immediate — a review posted the same night, sometimes before the bill is even paid, can describe a dispute (a wait time, a substitution, a mix-up with another table) as if it were a food-safety or service failure. We check whether the specific review breaches Google policy (no matching reservation or order, a competitor account, harassment of staff by name) — a slow night on its own isn't a ground, however it reads.

Situations we actually see

What this looks like
for restaurants & hospitality.

Every case still starts with the same policy check — these are the situations where restaurants & hospitality most often have a real route worth checking.

Worth a free check

Situations like these.

  • A review names a dish, date or party size that doesn't match any reservation or order
  • The review singles out a staff member by name in a way that reads as harassment rather than feedback
  • Several near-identical reviews land within hours of each other, often after a social-media dispute
  • A reviewer admits they didn't actually visit, or describes a different branch or a delivery-platform issue as if it happened in-house
Usually not a removal route

We do not file cases for these reasons.

  • A real customer gives a low rating
  • The review is unpleasant but expresses an opinion
  • There is no policy ground or supporting context
  • The objective is to hide genuine criticism

Restaurants & Hospitality FAQ

Questions we hear
most often.

A customer is threatening a bad review over a refund — what do we do?+

Don't trade a refund or free item for a review being changed or removed — that breaches platform rules on both sides. Handle the complaint on its own merits, and talk to us separately about the review once it's posted, if it is.

Can you remove a review about slow service on a busy night?+

Not on its own — a real customer's frustration with a genuine wait is exactly the kind of opinion Google review policy protects, however it feels to read. We look for a specific breach, not a bad night.

Someone posted a review about a delivery-app order, not our restaurant directly — does that count?+

Often not a route on your Google Business Profile at all — a delivery-platform complaint usually needs to go through that platform's own review or support process instead.
